Over the past three years Meridian has developed its own cutting edge technology, known as the IDME (intelligent data management engine). This has been successfully commercialised and forms the basis of our ‘ObstetriX’, 'Matrix' and the range of 'Clinixian' clinical management products which are widely installed across Australia and SE Asia.

The crux of Clinixian is in it’s capacity to allow subject matter experts (the customer’s ‘domain knowledge’ custodians) to implement their own specific system, directly, without programmers.

Elements of Clinixian include an interface to define content (ie archetypes, structures and rules), referred to as a ‘modeller’ and an end user interface to enter and access the information – referred to as the ‘validator/browser’.

The unique design of these components allows the client's ‘domain knowledge’ experts to take ownership of the resultant system.

Points to note

• ·    Clinixian is more than a development engine. It is an application lacking only one component, which is the ‘model’. Clinixian is most suited for applications that seek to manage knowledge or events, it is not designed nor efficacious in a transactional based system

• ·    The appeal of Clinixian (as witnessed by its success to date) is that it gives the ‘domain knowledge’ expert (the end user) the ability to design the presentation and data collection aspects of the solution, to his own, exact specifications, and then modify and maintain them at will.

• ·    The client owns the IP of his own ‘model’ and licences Clinixian from Meridian.

• ·    Meridian retains the rights to each ‘model’ for marketing purposes only

• ·    Meridian can provide a base ‘model’ to the client, provided the original author agrees.

•      No programming skills are required to develop a 'model'

The IDME Technology

IDME is a technology based on a two tier ‘archetype’ approach and whilst this technology is relatively well known, in academic circles, to the best of our knowledge, Meridian is the only company to have developed the theory and proceeded to successful commercialisation. The technology has made a number of advances which make it a superior solution to legacy systems, in particular, where a ‘knowledge/event’ management system is required.

IDME is a development engine, with a user friendly interface.  The final application is developed, and runs, within the IDME environment, such as ‘ObstetriX’  and with the MS SQL Server database, forms the end solution.

Meridian works in the Microsoft .Net environment using our proprietary technology. Meridian is a Microsoft Gold Development Partner.
